Word Search

Free online word search with 14 themes

A free word search in your browser, with nothing to download: find the words on the list hidden among the letters. Drag from the first letter to the last, or tap the first and then the last.

There are 14 themes, like instruments, painters, composers, space, the sea, books and Arcadópolis, in the interface language, and three levels: Easy (10 × 10, 7 words), Normal (12 × 12, 10 words) and Hard (14 × 14, 13 words, in all eight directions, backwards too). Today’s puzzle is the same for everyone; in Free play you choose the theme and level.

It’s a deep Talavera bowl of tomato broth and pasta letters. When you find a word, a colored spoonful lifts it and the word plays: each letter is a note, so every word has its own melody. It’s one of the 51 games in the Arcadópolis Games folder.

What it has

  • 14 themes in English and Spanish.
  • Three levels, from 10 × 10 to 14 × 14.
  • The daily puzzle, with streaks, and free play.
  • A clock that stops when paused, hints and keyboard play.
  • Every word you find plays its own melody.
  • Your unfinished game is saved; eight achievements and records per level in your profile.

How to play

  1. Open the Games folder, tap Word Search and choose today’s puzzle or a free one.
  2. Look for a word from the list among the letters.
  3. Drag from its first letter to its last (or tap both).
  4. When you’ve found them all, the clock stops and your time is recorded.

Which way the words run

On Easy, words run right, down and diagonally down. On Normal there are upward diagonals too. On Hard they run in all eight directions, so many are written backwards.

A trick: look first for a word’s rare letters, like Q, Z or X, and look around from there. If you get stuck, the hint shows you where one starts.

The 14 themes

Instruments, Painters, Composers, Space, The sea, Music, Fruit, Animals, Colors, Books, Games, Weather, The kitchen and Arcadópolis. In free play you pick any of them; the daily puzzle changes theme every day. The words are chosen for each language, so the English puzzle isn’t a translation of the Spanish one. On Hard, scan each row both ways before moving on.

Common questions

Are the words in English?

They’re in the interface language: if you use Arcadópolis in English, the puzzle is in English; in Spanish, it’s in Spanish.

What is the daily puzzle?

A word search with the same theme and letters for everyone, which changes at midnight (Mexico City time). Solving it several days in a row grows your streak.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Drag your finger from the first letter to the last, or tap both. It works in the browser, with nothing to install.
