Free Texas hold’em poker, no real money

Free Texas hold’em poker in your browser, with nothing to download and no real money: you sit at a table in the Jazz Lounge against four regulars played by the computer and bet with table chips, which can’t be bought or exchanged for anything. Everyone gets two cards and five community cards come out on the table; the best five-card hand wins.

It’s no limit: each round you can fold, check, call, bet or raise, all the way to all in. The blinds are 1 and 2, and you sit down with 20 to 200 chips from your purse; when you stand up, whatever you have left goes back. You start with 1,000 table chips and, if you run out, the house gives you another 1,000 right away.

The board is a chord: the flop plays the triad, the turn adds the seventh and the river the ninth, and every hand has its own. It’s one of the 51 games in the Arcadópolis Games folder.

What it has

  • No-limit Texas hold’em against four computer players.
  • Each regular has a personality: the careful one, the one who calls everything, the bluffer and the rock.
  • They decide only with what anyone at the table could see: their cards, the board, the pot and how many are still in.
  • Side pots when someone goes all in, split pots and the hand history.
  • Fast mode, keyboard play and one-tap bets: minimum, half pot, pot or all in.
  • Seven achievements and records in your profile; every hand counts.

How to play

  1. Open the Games folder, tap Poker and choose how many chips you sit down with.
  2. Look at your two cards and, on your turn, fold, check, call, bet or raise.
  3. The community cards come out: three on the flop, one on the turn and one on the river, with a betting round at each step.
  4. At the end the cards are shown and the best five-card hand takes the pot; if everyone else folds, you win without showing.

Which hand beats which

From best to worst: straight flush (five cards in a row of the same suit; the highest, 10 to ace, is the royal flush), four of a kind, full house (three of a kind plus a pair), flush (five of the same suit), straight (five in a row), three of a kind, two pair, pair and high card.

You can use both your cards, one or none: what counts is the best five-card combination from your two and the five on the table. If two hands are equal, the pot is split.

Tips to get started

Don’t play every hand: high pairs, ace-king or high suited cards are worth it; many others are best folded before the flop. Watch how each regular plays: you rarely bluff the careful one, and sometimes it pays to call the bluffer. And remember position: acting last lets you see what everyone else did.

Common questions

Is it played with real money?

No. You bet with table chips, which are free and can’t be bought or exchanged for money or anything real. It’s for fun and learning, with no risk.

Who am I playing against?

Four made-up regulars played by the computer, each with their own style. They can’t see your cards: they decide with the same information you’d have in their seat.

What happens if I close the window mid-hand?

You lose what you already bet in that hand, as if you had folded, and the rest of your table chips go back to your purse.
