The Museum Storeroom
The Museum Storeroom: a free box-pushing puzzle
The Museum Storeroom is a free box-pushing puzzle in your browser, with nothing to download. In the Museum storeroom, the restorer has to take the painting crates to the freight elevator marks. Crates can only be pushed, never pulled, and one at a time: every move counts.
There are 24 original levels in four rooms of increasing difficulty, from the freight elevator to the vault. All of them have a solution and each one shows the fewest pushes it can be solved with, for anyone who wants the full challenge. Play with the arrow keys, by tapping the square you want to walk to or by swiping.
It’s one of the 51 games in the Arcadópolis Games folder.

What it has
- 24 original levels in four rooms: the freight elevator, the packing room, the corridors and the vault.
- All with a verified solution and a goal of the fewest pushes.
- Unlimited undo and restart the level at any time.
- Tap a square to walk there, or a crate next to you to push it.
- Every crate that reaches its mark plays a note; at the end, the fanfare.
- Saved games, best marks per level and six achievements.
How to play
- Open the Games folder and tap The Museum Storeroom.
- Walk with the arrows or W A S D (or tap a square). To push a crate, walk into it.
- Take each crate onto a red mark on the floor. If a crate gets stuck in a corner, undo or restart.
- When every crate is on its mark, you move on to the next level.
The storeroom rules
You can only push one crate at a time, and only if there’s free space behind it: you can’t push two crates together or push a crate into a wall. You can’t pull them either, so a crate against a wall can only move along that wall. That’s why corners are dangerous: a crate in a corner without a mark can’t be taken out, and the game warns you.
Tips to avoid getting stuck
Before pushing, think about where each crate has to go and from which side you’ll need to push it. Leave room to walk around the crates: if you block the only way through, you’re trapped. Start with the crates headed for the hardest marks to reach and leave the ones near the exit for last. And use Undo freely: it has no limit and no penalty.
Common questions
Do all the levels have a solution?
Yes. Each level was built by playing backwards from the crates already in place, and a solver verified the solution and worked out the fewest pushes, shown as the goal.
What if I make a mistake?
You can undo as many moves as you like, one by one, or restart the level. There’s no limit and you lose nothing.
How do levels unlock?
Each level opens when you solve the previous one. From “Choose level” you can go back to any level you’ve solved to improve your mark.
